Experiment

Remove all your makeup so that you can see the natural color of your skin.

Find a black shirt or jacket and a dark brown grey or navy garment in your closet.

Stand in front of a mirror near some natural daylight.

With the garments still on the hangers  place the black shirt under your chin and look at your face, not at the garment. Observe the affect the color is having on your face. Do not focus on the garment. Now do the same with the brown navy or gray garment.   Go back and forth a few times to confirm what you see. Observe the following:

Look at the over all color of your skin. Is it fresh or has it turned sallow with the black.

Has your under eye area becoming darker with the black.

Do your lips appearing bluer rather than pink with the black?

Does your face appear heavier with the black.
