How To Pick Colors that Compliment

Color is one of the most important elements in creating an appearance that is pleasing to you, and to others.

It is scientifically proven that people react to you in a positive or negative way based on your appearance and the colors you wear.

Colors that harmonize with your skin tone make you look vibrant, thinner and more youthful. Colors not in harmony with your skin-tone can emphasize wrinkles and drain the color from your skin making you appear tired and older.

Most of us tend to choose colors that we like to look at. You may like the the look of a color but that does not  automatically mean it will look good against your skin.  This point can be difficult to understand because we are so used to buying colors that we like to look at, and colors that are the current trend.

For example I love to wear bright pink but it completely overpowers me. You see pink first and then me.  On the other hand burgundy gives me what I call the ‘wow factor’ where there is a beautiful balance of color to my appearance, makes me feel great and promotes a positive reaction from people.

Fantastic Color Fact:

Color is to the eye, what music is to the ear.  It is a vibrational, therefore we not only see color we also feel color.  We are affected differently by different colors.

Color Tips:

Here are some tips on choosing colors the next time you go shopping.

Do blemishes stand out with one color more than the other.

  2. 2.Conduct some experiments with color.  Take a dark color and a light color and see which is more harmonious with your skin.  Choose a bright color and a soft color and see which one is in more flattering  to your complexion.
